Minimum wage statement from Minister Işıkhan

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan responded to questions from members of the press regarding the minimum wage. Minister Işıkhan answered the question of whether a figure would be brought to the agenda following the second meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission as follows:

"It is too early for a figure. We need to take the views of the parties and evaluate them in the commission. As the government, we are in the role of an arbitrator; we will take the views of the worker and employer segments, evaluate them, and then share them with the public."

Minister Işıkhan also made a statement regarding a question about Türk-İş's participation in the second meeting and how the process will proceed. Stating that social dialogue processes are very important, Işıkhan used the expressions, "The process is ongoing; we will continue to use social dialogue processes in this process, this is our strongest aspect."

The Minimum Wage Determination Commission will hold its critical second meeting on Thursday, December 14, to determine the minimum wage figure that will be valid for the year 2026.
