Minister Işıkhan's interesting remarks on unemployment

Speaking at the 'Strong Turkey Together' Century of Turkey meetings held in Sakarya, Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan emphasized that the Turkish economy grew by 4.8 percent in the second quarter of the year.

Minister Işıkhan announced that the unemployment rate fell to 8 percent in July and the number of unemployed people decreased by 164 thousand, dropping to 2 million 828 thousand. The number of employed people increased by 18 thousand, reaching 32 million 582 thousand.

Minister Işıkhan stated that the unemployment rate among the youth population also fell to 15 percent, adding, "I believe that this positive trend will continue thanks to our projects and programs."

Expressing that Sakarya has a high capacity for work and production, Işıkhan said that past achievements serve as a guide for today's efforts. Stating, "We are waging the same struggles today that our ancestors waged," Işıkhan emphasized that these successes are a guide for the future.
