Minister Şimşek on reserves: 'We are continuing our efforts to secure external funding'
Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek made a statement on his social media account following the decline in foreign exchange reserves. Şimşek said, "We are continuing our efforts to provide additional external funding to our country without slowing down."
Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek stated on his social media platform X account that gross foreign exchange reserves declined by 3.3 billion dollars weekly to 122.2 billion dollars, noting that "It is observed that gold prices and swap transactions were effective in this development. During the period in question, the domestic swap stock decreased by 2.2 billion dollars, while the impact of the decline in gold prices was at the level of 1.1 billion dollars."
Şimşek also expressed that they are continuing their efforts to secure additional external funding without slowing down, and that they held very productive meetings in London within this framework.
