Minister Uraloğlu announces upcoming toll hikes for bridges and highways
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, in his statement regarding bridge and highway toll fees, said that increases on highways operated by the General Directorate of Highways could be determined by taking into account the revaluation rate set at 25.49 percent for 2026.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made assessments regarding bridge and highway toll fees during a live broadcast he attended. Speaking on how fee increases will be determined, Uraloğlu stated that separate applications based on different operating models are on the agenda.
Uraloğlu said, "There are highways operated by the General Directorate of Highways. We think our approach here could be in line with the revaluation rate. For build-operate-transfer highways, we will look at what the contract says. Sometimes we might make a 10 percent adjustment. I think we will make adjustments by considering what inflation has been and how much the amount affecting inflation in transportation is."
WHAT IS THE REVALUATION RATE?
On the other hand, the official regulation regarding the revaluation rate has also been clarified. The General Communiqué on the Tax Procedure Law, prepared by the Revenue Administration under the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, was published in the Official Gazette on November 27. According to the communiqué, the revaluation rate for 2026 was set at 25.49 percent.
