Minister Vedat Işıkhan announced! When will the old-age insurance system be implemented?
Minister of Labor and Social Security Işıkhan provided information at a TİSK meeting regarding the implementation of old-age insurance, which was among the election promises.
Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan attended the Common Sharing Forum organized by the Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TİSK) in Istanbul.
In his speech there, Minister Işıkhan stated that they are always on the side of the worker and the employer, noting that the minimum wage process was also successfully concluded together, and touched upon the social security system in Turkey.
Stating that the world population is aging and reminding that there are people in Turkey who are still actively working in factories at the age of 60-65, Işıkhan expressed that they are preparing for a new practice with the following words:
"Citizens benefit from insurance services by paying a fee for general health insurance. This fee is not requested from those who are unable to pay it. The facilities of this health system in Turkey do not exist anywhere else in the world. We will also implement old-age insurance. We must protect our elderly for the future. There is almost one elderly, one disabled, or one sick citizen in every home. We will implement social state mechanisms. We need to develop a foresight in this sense."
Minister Işıkhan did not provide information regarding the date when the system will begin.
