Ministry announces: A first in the budget after 6 months

Turkey's central government budget revenues in May were 1 trillion 7 billion 136 million liras, and expenditures were 787 billion 728 million liras. The budget posted a surplus of 219 billion 409 million liras in May. Thus, the budget has posted a surplus for the first time since November.

Ministry announces: A first in the budget after 6 months

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance has announced the budget implementation results for May.

Accordingly, in May, budget revenues increased by 83.3 percent compared to the same month last year, reaching 1 trillion 7 billion 136 million liras, while budget expenditures increased by 83 percent to 787 billion 728 million liras.

In the January-May period, budget revenues rose by 101 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 3 trillion 240 billion 147 million liras.

Budget expenditures also increased by 97.9 percent in the same period, reaching 3 trillion 712 billion 50 million liras.

The central government budget posted a surplus of 219 billion 409 million liras in May, and a deficit of 471 billion 903 million liras in the January-May period.
