Ministry grants license: Oil exploration to begin in 3 provinces

The decision by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources' General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs (MAPEG) regarding oil exploration licenses has been published in the Official Gazette and has entered into force.

Within the scope of the decision, the applications of Arar Petrol AŞ were evaluated, and it was deemed appropriate to grant the company oil exploration licenses in three separate fields.

OIL EXPLORATION IN THREE REGIONS

According to the MAPEG decision, Arar Petrol AŞ will be able to conduct oil exploration activities in two separate fields in Hatay and one field covering the provinces of Adana, Osmaniye, and Hatay.

LICENSE DURATION IS 5 YEARS

According to the decision in the Official Gazette, the oil exploration licenses issued in the name of the company will be valid for 5 years.

During this period, oil exploration activities can be carried out in the fields covered by the licenses.

SIZE OF THE FIELDS TO BE EXPLORED ANNOUNCED

According to the decision, oil exploration activities will be carried out in two separate fields of 25 thousand 550 hectares and 62 thousand 336 hectares in Hatay, and in an area of 57 thousand 230 hectares covering the provinces of Adana, Osmaniye, and Hatay.

Thus, oil exploration licenses have been granted for a total area of more than 145 thousand hectares.
