Ministry to inspect coastal businesses and daily rental homes

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance will tighten its inspections of businesses heavily used in tourism resorts during the summer, particularly in Antalya, Muğla, and İzmir.

Teams from the Revenue Administration, which operates under the Ministry, have established an inspection schedule for this area with the start of the tourism season.

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek has underscored the great importance they place on the fight against the informal economy, stating regarding these inspections: "Necessary actions will be taken based on the results obtained. Our fight against the informal economy will continue in an uncompromising and strong manner."

Teams will carry out inspections in tourism resorts during the summer months, primarily in Antalya, Muğla, and İzmir.

To this end, hundreds of inspection personnel have been deployed to Antalya, İzmir, and Muğla. Field inspections will be conducted on hotels and pensions, as well as entertainment venues operating at night, yacht tourism, and beach clubs. The inspections will also include restaurants and businesses located on busy streets and avenues.

Revenue assessments will be carried out, particularly in nightclubs, restaurants, and beach clubs.

DAILY RENTAL HOMES ALSO UNDER SURVEILLANCE

Revenue Administration teams will also focus on daily residential rentals during their inspections.

While analysis work regarding summer rentals for 2023 is being conducted, taxpayers thought to have generated income in this scope will be invited to provide an explanation, and depending on the result, they will be ensured to file a declaration through voluntary compliance.

Furthermore, checks will be conducted on taxpayers who have received permits for daily residential rentals from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as well as on vacant properties with the potential for daily rental.

STATEMENT FROM ŞİMŞEK
