Netflix's second-quarter financial results beat expectations
In the second quarter of 2025, Netflix increased its revenue by 15.9 percent to reach 11.1 billion dollars and boosted its profit by 45 percent to 3.1 billion dollars.
Announcing its financial results for the second quarter of 2025, Netflix increased its revenue by 15.9 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 11.1 billion dollars.
In the second quarter of 2024, this figure was recorded at 9.6 billion dollars. The company stated that this increase was driven by higher subscriber acquisition, increases in subscription fees, and a rise in advertising revenue.
While Netflix projects a revenue expectation of 11.5 billion dollars for the third quarter, it has also revised its revenue forecasts for the full year 2025 upward. The company's net profit increased by 45 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 3.1 billion dollars. In the second quarter of 2024, this figure was 2.1 billion dollars.
Earnings per share rose from 4.88 dollars in the same period last year to 7.19 dollars this year. Netflix's financial results for this quarter exceeded market expectations.
Another notable point was that Netflix did not disclose its subscriber numbers this quarter either. The company had announced that its subscriber count increased by 18.9 million in the last quarter of 2024.
