New 10 and 100 lira banknotes released into circulation today
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) has put new series 100 TL and 10 TL banknotes into circulation as of today. While only the signatures have changed on the new banknotes, all other features remain the same as previous series.
The decision made by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) regarding new banknotes has been published in the Official Gazette.
In accordance with this decision, the 6th series 100 TL and 7th series 10 TL banknotes under the TCMB E9 Emission Group will enter circulation starting today.
In addition to the signature of TCMB Governor Dr. Fatih Karahan, the new banknotes will feature the signatures of Deputy Governor Prof. Dr. Hatice Karahan on the 100 TL banknotes and Deputy Governor Dr. Osman Cevdet Akçay on the 10 TL banknotes.
The design, dimensions, and general appearance of the banknotes will remain the same as previous series; the only difference will be the signatures they bear.
The newly printed banknotes will be in circulation concurrently with the existing banknotes.
