New chapter in the OpenAI CEO crisis

It has been reported that former Twitch executive Emmett Shear has been appointed to replace the dismissed CEO Sam Altman at the artificial intelligence company OpenAI.

According to a report by Bloomberg, the company's board of directors made the new appointment while ignoring pressure from investors for Altman to return to his post.

Following the surprise dismissal of founding CEO Sam Altman from OpenAI, the pioneering firm in generative artificial intelligence, the company's investors and some executives had been working throughout the weekend to have Altman reinstated.

Microsoft and several other investors were pushing for the reinstatement of Altman, who was dismissed on Friday, as CEO.

Altman, who was open to returning to the CEO position, was demanding the removal of the current board members. Mira Murati, who was appointed as interim CEO to replace Altman, was also supporting Altman's return.

Altman was dismissed on Friday on the grounds that he was "not consistently candid in his communications with the board." It was reported that prior to this incident, Altman had been in contact with funds capable of investing billions of dollars, particularly in the Middle East, for a new artificial intelligence chip startup.

This initiative was planned to be a direct competitor to Nvidia, which dominates the hardware side of the artificial intelligence sector.
