New decision on second-hand vehicle sales in the Official Gazette: Will continue until July 1, 2025
An important regulation regarding second-hand vehicle trade has been published in the Official Gazette and has entered into force. Accordingly, the 6-month and 6,000-kilometer limit has been extended from January 1, 2025, to July 1, 2025. Additionally, the Ministry of Trade will have the authority to extend this period for up to another 6 months.
The Regulation on Amending the Regulation on the Trade of Motor Land Vehicles by the Ministry of Trade has been published in the Official Gazette.
The new regulation prohibits the sale of second-hand motorcycles, automobiles, and off-road vehicles before they have completed 6 months and 6,000 kilometers from their first registration date. This rule will remain in effect until July 1, 2025, and will cover both direct and indirect sales.
Furthermore, advertising second-hand vehicles at a price higher than the current sales price determined by the manufacturer or distributor is also prohibited until the same date.
The Ministry of Trade has the authority to extend this period for another six months if necessary.
