The debate regarding the Turkey Diyanet Foundation's (TDV) assets in investment funds has returned to the agenda with a new document shared by economist İnan Mutlu. Mutlu claimed that the TDV Headquarters "owns 73 percent of a fund with 380 million shares."
In the fund distribution table dated October 21, 2026, shared by Mutlu, it is seen that the Turkey Diyanet Foundation Headquarters holds 380 million participation shares in the Aktif Portföy Money Market Participation Fund. In the table, the ratio of these shares to the fund's total participation shares in circulation is listed as 73.025 percent.

Claims that the TDV was investing Palestine donations and zakat funds in investment funds and had suffered a 48 percent loss due to market crises had previously sparked controversy. The foundation, however, had argued that it did not have financial resources in portfolio management companies or in funds for which liquidation decisions had been made.
In statements made by the foundation, it was noted that cash assets not intended for short-term use were evaluated in accordance with interest-free finance principles; it was stated that the foundation's resources had not lost value and that no stock market investments were made. The newly shared table has brought the question of whether there is a contradiction between these statements and the fund records back to the agenda.
