A new practice has been implemented for Fast Pass System (HGS) violation payments, which concerns vehicle owners. Accordingly, the era of querying and paying for a violation debt belonging to another vehicle by simply entering the license plate information has ended.
In the new system, payment transactions are carried out via e-Devlet. After logging into their own e-Devlet account, the vehicle owner can view violation information for vehicles registered in their name and pay any outstanding debt if applicable.
As reported by NTV, previously it was possible to check whether there was a violation by entering any vehicle's license plate on the payment screen and make a payment if there was a debt. With this change, this method has been disabled.
To perform the transaction, one must log in to e-Devlet via a browser, type "Araçlarım" (My Vehicles) into the search section, and select the relevant vehicle from the list. Then, highway transit information can be viewed under the "Geçiş" (Transit) tab. If there is a violation debt, one can proceed to the card payment step by selecting the "Ödeme yap" (Make payment) option on the relevant debt line.
It is stated that the application cannot be used via the e-Devlet mobile app at this stage, and one must log in via a web browser for violation payments.
The change also concerns those who use entrusted or borrowed vehicles. Individuals who make an HGS transit with someone else's vehicle will not be able to directly query and pay for the debt incurred if there is insufficient balance in the vehicle; they will have to learn the amount from the license holder and make a separate arrangement regarding the payment.
