Penalty amounts for the rules regarding the transport of perishable food items have been reorganized. The regulation change prepared by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has been published in the Official Gazette and has entered into force.
With the regulation, the administrative fine to be applied to those acting in violation of transport rules has been increased. Accordingly, a fine of 12 thousand 758 liras will be imposed on ATP Operating Authorization Certificate holders and approval bodies within the scope of the “Agreement on the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs and on the Special Equipment to be Used for such Carriage” (ATP).
In the event that the special transport equipment used in the transport of perishable food is not in compliance with the legislation, an administrative fine of the same amount will be applied. In cases where non-compliance with the regulation is detected at centers holding an ATP Operating Authorization Certificate or at approval bodies, the fine will be 12 thousand 758 liras.
Previously, an administrative fine of 2 thousand liras was applied for the aforementioned violations. With the new regulation, the penalty amount has been significantly increased.
