New regulation for those earning money on TikTok live streams!

TikTok has taken action to implement training programs and introduce new rules to its live streaming monetization policy to help creators build more inclusive and positive communities.

According to the statement made by the company, TikTok is launching a new "LIVE Monetization Policy" and training programs to develop the authentic, positive, and entertaining communities of "LIVE", where creators broadcast live.

Within the scope of the regulations, TikTok will identify low-quality content that is ineligible for monetization from LIVE. In the event of a violation of the rules that creators are obligated to follow, the creator will be notified and their access to monetization features may be restricted.

The fundamental standards regarding the visibility of such content on the platform, including on LIVE, will continue to be determined by the "TikTok Community Guidelines and Terms of Service".

LIVE MONETIZATION FEATURES WILL BE GRADUAL

TikTok is also bringing a fresh approach to its engagement with LIVE users in order to support new broadcasters and create a safe environment for them. Under the current rules on TikTok, it was sufficient for creators to be at least 18 years old and for their accounts to meet additional criteria to be able to host a live stream on LIVE.

With the new regulations, LIVE creators will be able to access live streaming monetization features gradually. This way, they will learn the rules of LIVE while growing their audience. To this end, TikTok is updating the in-app LIVE Safety Center and creating new resources. From now on, creators will be able to view policy violations and educational content in the LIVE Safety Education Center.

In the statement, TikTok METAP (Middle East, Africa, Turkey, and Pakistan) LIVE Manager Waseem Sayegh noted that the vast majority of LIVE creators comply with safety rules and monetization policies.

Stating that they will continue to offer resources, moderation processes, and tools that can help creators build safer, more inclusive, and authentic LIVE communities, Sayegh commented, "We believe these updates will strengthen the creativity of our LIVE community and help increase positive interactions."

This update to TikTok's policy serves as a continuation of the platform's investments in LIVE safety and content quality. More than 40 thousand people, including specialized teams and moderation models established for LIVE, continue to work to ensure TikTok remains a safe platform.

TikTok offers more than 10 customizable safety resources specifically for LIVE creators, as well as numerous features that help viewers personalize how they enjoy LIVE content.
