New regulation from the CMB for Borsa Istanbul: Deadline extended
The Capital Markets Board has extended the duration of temporary measures taken to protect investor confidence and market stability until July 4, 2025.
The Capital Markets Board (CMB), with its new decision dated May 30, 2025, announced that it has extended the duration of certain temporary measures previously taken to ensure market stability and maintain investor confidence.
MEASURES VALID UNTIL JULY 4
The CMB has decided that the regulations announced in the bulletin dated April 18, 2025, numbered 2025/24, and implemented via board decision 24/733, will remain in effect until the end of the trading session on July 4, 2025.
WHICH PRACTICES WILL CONTINUE?
Within the scope of the extended temporary measures:
Short selling transactions will continue to be prohibited in Borsa Istanbul equity markets.
Share buybacks by publicly traded companies will continue to be facilitated.
The equity ratio in leveraged transactions will continue to be applied with flexibility.
