Following the resignation of Capital Markets Board (CMB) Chairman Mahmut Sütçü and the submission of a retirement petition by Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance Osman Çelik, a notable statement came from former AKP deputy Şamil Tayyar.
As discussions regarding the fund crisis continue, Tayyar argued in a post on his social media account that there could be further departures in the economic administration.
While it was stated that Sütçü made the decision to resign due to health issues, it was reported that Osman Çelik submitted his retirement petition to Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, effective as of today. Additionally, the Chairman of the Public Oversight, Accounting and Auditing Standards Authority, İbrahim Ömer Gönül, was also removed from his post.
In his post, Tayyar described these steps as "correct but overdue moves" and claimed that the departures took place under the instruction of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
"The resignation of CMB Chairman Mahmut Sütçü and the retirement of Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance Osman Çelik are correct but overdue moves. The departure of economic administrators associated with the fund scandal is, to put it clearly, ultimately the instruction of our President."

In the same post, Tayyar stated that other names should also leave their posts, using the expressions, "It would be better if they said goodbye without dragging it out, without waiting for instructions from the presidential complex; they can no longer sit there."
"There are others who will go. It would be better if they said goodbye without dragging it out, without waiting for instructions from the presidential complex; they can no longer sit there. No one can stand against this social wind. Our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will not protect them either. Do not drag it out."
