Garanti BBVA has announced that the access problems experienced with its mobile application and call center have been resolved. The bank stated that all services are back online and that branches will remain open until 17:00 on Saturday, May 3.
On Friday, May 2, a prolonged access issue occurred on Garanti BBVA's mobile application. As users were unable to perform their transactions, claims of a cyberattack emerged on social media. However, in its statement, the bank indicated that the interruption was caused by a technical malfunction and that there was no possibility of a cyberattack.
The statement from Garanti BBVA is as follows:
"Dear Customers,
We would like to inform you that access to our digital channels and Call Center has returned to normal and that we have reopened our channels for your service. You may continue to perform your transactions through all our channels. Additionally, we would like to inform you that all our branches will be open until 17:00 on Saturday, May 3. We sincerely express our regret for this process once again and thank you for your understanding and patience."
