New Turkey forecast from the IMF
According to the IMF's July 2025 report, global growth for 2025 has risen to 3%. Turkey's growth forecast has also been revised, projected at 3% for 2025 and 3.3% for 2026.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has released its July 2025 World Economic Outlook Report.
In the report titled "Global Economy: Weak Resilience in an Environment of Persistent Uncertainty," the organization updated its global forecasts.
According to the report, the global growth forecast for 2025 has risen to 3 percent, and to 3.1 percent for 2026.
Global inflation is projected to decline to 4.2 percent in 2025 and 3.62 percent in 2026, consistent with the April report. Inflation in the U.S. is expected to remain above target, while it is estimated to be lower in other major economies.
The 2025 growth forecast for the U.S. was raised from 1.8 percent to 1.9 percent. In the Eurozone, the growth forecast was raised to 1 percent for 2025 and 1.2 percent for 2026. China's growth forecast increased by 0.8 percentage points to 4.8 percent.
The institution also revised its growth forecasts for the Turkish economy upward for 2025 and 2026. The 2025 forecast was raised from 2.7 percent to 3 percent, and the 2026 forecast from 3.2 percent to 3.3 percent.
The report stated that the reasons for the changes in global economic growth forecasts include stronger-than-expected trade pull-forward, tariffs in the U.S. being effectively lower than announced, improved financial conditions, and fiscal expansion in some major economies.
