The new year arrives with price hikes again: Fuel price boards have changed (January 1, 2026 current fuel prices)

Fuel prices, which are closely monitored by vehicle owners, changed again in the early hours of 2026. The increase in the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) was reflected at the pump as of midnight, and price boards were updated.

With the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette, the tax amounts applied to fuel were reorganized. The SCT update, which was expected to be over 10 percent based on the Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) rates for the July-December 2025 period under normal conditions, was kept at 6.95 percent, limiting the impact of the increase.

SCT HIKE ON FUEL

Before the regulation, an SCT of 13.86 lira was applied to gasoline, 12.99 lira to diesel, and 10.64 lira to LPG. With the new decision, these amounts were set at 14.82 lira for gasoline, 13.90 lira for diesel, and 11.38 lira for LPG.

GASOLINE AND DIESEL PRICES INCREASED

Following the SCT increase, fuel prices rose. A hike of 1 lira and 16 kuruş was applied to the liter price of gasoline, and 1 lira and 8 kuruş to the liter price of diesel. There was no change in LPG prices.
