No figure emerged at the third meeting: TÜRK-İŞ to announce minimum wage demand!

The Minimum Wage Determination Commission met today (December 19) to determine the 2025 minimum wage increase, which directly concerns 7 million workers and indirectly affects the entire society.

NO FIGURE DISCUSSED

No figure emerged at today's third meeting of the commission, which had also convened on December 10 and December 16.

The fact that no figure was reached at the commission meeting, held for the third time under the chairmanship of Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, has caused public reaction.

TÜRK-İŞ TO ANNOUNCE MINIMUM WAGE PROPOSAL

TÜRK-İŞ has announced that it will disclose its minimum wage demand today (December 19) at 16:00.

In a statement made by TÜRK-İŞ, it was stated, "We are taking into account the public's expectations for the figures to be announced. We will announce the figure at the TÜRK-İŞ Presidents' Board Meeting at 16:00."

"THE GOVERNMENT HAS NOTHING TO ANNOUNCE"

Speaking to Sözcü TV, TÜRK-İŞ President Ergün Atalay said, "The government and the employers' union have nothing to announce. We have decided to convene the presidents' board. Our colleagues are currently making their evaluations. The figures will be presented to us. We will announce it at 16:00."

"THOSE WHO PAY SHOULD STATE A FIGURE SO WE CAN TAKE OUR STANCE ACCORDINGLY"

TÜRK-İŞ Vice President Ramazan Ağar had said the following after the third meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission:

"Nothing came up as a figure in the commission meeting again. The press asks why TÜRK-İŞ does not announce a figure. As the press, you do not insist on the government or the employer to state a figure as much as we do. We are the party requesting money, therefore, those who pay and our government should state a figure so that we can take our stance accordingly."
