Noyan Doğan: Employers will complete employees' missing premiums
It has been stated that employers can complete the missing premium days for employees who benefited from short-time work and cash wage support during the pandemic but were still made to work by their employers without their premiums being paid for those days.
Hürriyet columnist Noyan Doğan wrote that the days missing from SGK (Social Security Institution) records for employees who benefited from short-time work and cash wage support during the pandemic, but were still made to work by their employers without their premiums being paid, can be completed.
In his column today, Doğan noted the following:
"If an employer applied for and benefited from the short-time work allowance or cash wage support, but in return had their employees work for the entire month without paying the premiums for the days worked to the SGK, those missing days can be completed. The employer will pay the missing premium days. For this, the employer will apply to the SGK for the days reported as missing service on behalf of the insured and will pay the premiums within three months from the date of application. However, if the employer benefited from the short-time work allowance within the framework of the rules and did not have employees work extra, and the number of days reported as missing to the SGK is consistent with the number of days actually worked, the missing premiums for employees in this situation will not be completed."
