'Nullity' blow to the stock market

The nullity ruling issued regarding the CHP administration continues to make its impact felt in financial markets. The price volatility experienced on Borsa Istanbul following the announcement of the decision has persisted into the new trading day.
At the opening of the new day, the BIST 100 index began trading with a 1.5 percent decline, while the BIST 30 futures index saw a loss of 4.9 percent. Following the nullity decision taken on May 21, selling pressure intensified on the Borsa Istanbul 100 index, where losses reached 6 percent and a circuit breaker was triggered.
The BIST 100 index closed the day following this decision with a 6.1 percent drop, marking its sharpest daily loss since March 21, 2025, when Ekrem İmamoğlu was taken into custody.
