OECD announces 'growth and inflation' forecast for Turkey

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has published its Economic Outlook report. According to the report, the global economy is projected to grow by 3.2 percent this year, and by 3.3 percent in 2025 and 2026.

The report predicts that household consumption in Turkey will be limited due to ongoing fiscal consolidation and tightening financial conditions. It was noted that while foreign exchange reserves are increasing, monetary and fiscal policy will continue to remain tight.

OECD PREDICTS GRADUAL DECLINE IN INFLATION

The OECD projects that annual average inflation in Turkey will be 30.7 percent in 2025, and that this rate will decline to 17.2 percent in 2026.

According to the report, authorities need to maintain macroeconomic stability policies until they are firmly on track to reach their inflation targets.
