Ozan Bingöl crunched the tax numbers and asked the question on millions of minds
Tax expert Ozan Bingöl performed a calculation regarding Turkey's tax system on his social media account and posed the question that echoes the sentiments of millions of citizens.
High tax rates, criticized by millions of citizens, continue to burden the working class.
While the high taxes levied on everything we eat and drink make life difficult, tax expert Ozan Bingöl made a striking calculation on his social media account and asked the question, 'Where are our taxes?'
Starting his post by disclosing the amount of tax collected over the last 22 years, Bingöl asked why we still pay for so many things in daily life in a geography where so much tax is collected.

Here is that post by Bingöl:
"In the last 22 years, 2 trillion 756 billion 502 million dollars in TAXES have been collected at the average exchange rate. In a geography where this much tax is collected;
-If we are paying for bridges/roads again,
-If we are entering a commercial vortex called private schools, private hospitals, and private health insurance,
-If we are giving shares to many institutions under other names, then;
Where are our taxes?"
