Paynet's operating license officially revoked
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey has announced that the operating license granted to Paynet Ödeme Hizmetleri AŞ as a payment institution is automatically invalid due to the termination of the company's legal entity status.
According to the announcement published in the Official Gazette, the authorization of Paynet Ödeme Hizmetleri Anonim Şirketi to operate as a payment institution has ended due to necessary reasons within the scope of the relevant legislation. The dissolution of the company's legal entity led to its operating license becoming invalid.
The statement emphasized that the license cancellation took place within the framework of Law No. 6493 on Payment and Securities Settlement Systems, Payment Services, and Electronic Money Institutions. Thus, Paynet's operations in the payment services sector have come to an end.
In the notification made to the public, it was stated that following the termination of the company's legal existence, its existing licenses automatically lost their validity.
