Pro-government newspaper announces: 3 options for holiday bonus increase for retirees

Declaring 2024 as the Year of Retirees, AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that the lowest pension had been set at 10,000 TL, calling it 'good news.'

While millions of retirees were left disappointed, all eyes have turned to the bonus that the AKP government will announce.

According to a report in Sabah, known for its proximity to the government, there are 3 options on the table regarding the retirement bonus. It is said that 2 of these options are standing out.

One of these formulas will be accepted, a legislative proposal will be submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), and retirees will receive their bonuses with an increase in 2024.

FIRST FORMULA

One of the strongest formulas for the increase in retirement bonuses is a 50 percent hike. If this possibility materializes, retirees will receive a holiday bonus of 3,000 lira. Thus, all retirees will see 6,000 lira in their accounts before the July pension raise.

SECOND FORMULA

A 100 percent increase in bonuses with a special raise for the Year of Retirees is on the table as the strongest option. If this possibility materializes, the retirement bonus will rise to 4,000 lira. With the total of two bonuses, all retirees will have received a payment of 8,000 lira in 2024.

THIRD FORMULA

The Republic bonus was implemented as 5,000 lira. The final formula is for this figure to be applied to holiday bonuses as well. If this scenario occurs, a payment of 10,000 lira will have been made in 2024, specifically for the Year of Retirees.
