In his statement yesterday, Işıkhan spoke about the efforts to introduce retirement rights for housewives, saying: "This was among the important promises made by our President during our election period in May. Hopefully, we will implement this improvement for housewives within the 5-year term. The state will cover one-third of the premium support within the scope of voluntary insurance."

According to a report in the pro-government Sabah newspaper, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security has launched the retirement initiative for housewives, and one-third of the premium support will be provided within the scope of voluntary insurance. Accordingly, the state will cover 1,430 liras of the 4,292-lira premium for housewives who take out voluntary insurance at the lowest amount.

The retirement age will be made more flexible, particularly for women, by taking into account factors such as the number of children and the presence of a disabled child.

While housewives can earn the right to retirement by taking out voluntary insurance, they and their dependents will also be able to benefit from health services free of charge.
