Produced in Turkey, to be exported to 150 countries

The new generation Toyota C-HR, which is produced exclusively in Turkey and will be exported to 150 countries, has rolled off the production line. For the Toyota C-HR, of which 40 thousand units will be produced in the remainder of the year, the 2024 production target is 140 thousand units.

The factory in the Arifiye district of Sakarya, operated with 100 percent Toyota capital, exports 90 percent of its production. It is estimated that the new generation Toyota C-HR will also see great demand, especially in the European market.

A special investment was made for the battery to be used in the new generation Toyota C-HR, which is the first Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) car produced in Turkey. Toyota Automotive Industry Turkey General Manager and CEO Erdoğan Şahin stated, "We planned the battery production line in a way that it would not be exposed to any risks. It has a design that is completely isolated from dust. We trust the quality of the batteries we produce; we have spared no investment for this."

"WE ARE MORE THAN LOCAL AND ALSO NATIONAL"

Touching upon the localization rate of the new generation C-HR, Şahin added, "The localization rate is over 90 percent by volume and over 50 percent by value. We increase the localization rate in every new vehicle we design. With every new project, we bring new companies to Turkey and produce new parts in Turkey. Therefore, regarding localization, Toyota is as local as anyone else; we are more than local, and we are also national."

Minister of Industry and Technology Fatih Kacır, who attended the line-off ceremony of the new Toyota C-HR PHEV, emphasized the importance of this new investment, stating, "Toyota producing such a vehicle globally only in Turkey and exporting it from here to 150 countries, and adding additional markets to these, is actually an indicator of the trust in us, and indirectly, the trust in Turkey."
