Former Central Bank Chief Economist Prof. Dr. Hakan Kara stated that he receives many questions about when the Central Bank will cut interest rates.
Sharing a graph on his X account, Kara pointed out that the Central Bank is already cutting rates in practice. Hakan Kara announced that the interbank interest rate has fallen from 53 percent to 47 percent in the last two weeks.
Kara's post is as follows:
"I get a lot of questions about when the CBRT will cut interest rates. I say that it already counts as having cut them in practice. In the last 2 weeks, the interbank market interest rate has fallen from 53% to 47% (blue)"
