Prof. Dr. Özgür Demirtaş warns: '4 wrongs don't make a right': 'We haven't seen the worst yet'
Prof. Dr. Özgür Demirtaş commented on the Medium-Term Program announced yesterday. Prof. Dr. Demirtaş listed his warnings, stating, 'There are disastrous mistakes in the Medium-Term Program.'
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz announced the Medium-Term Program (OVP), which covers Turkey's economic roadmap for the years 2025-2027.
In the OVP, inflation is expected to fall to 17.5 percent in 2025 and to single digits in 2026. Growth is targeted at 4 percent in 2025. The unemployment rate is projected to remain in single digits throughout the OVP period. According to calculations based on the OVP, the dollar/TL exchange rate is expected to average 42 TL in 2025.
While many criticisms have been directed at the OVP, Prof. Dr. Özgür Demirtaş made notable criticisms.

Demirtaş said the following in his post on X:
"Bank follow-ups are increasing.
Zombie companies are in trouble.
We haven't seen the worst yet.
As we transition from autumn to winter, we will see chain bankruptcies and layoffs.
