Public transport fare hike in Istanbul: Effective from February 16

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) commissions have voted on a proposal to increase fares by 20 percent across a wide range of services, from public transport vehicles to taxis, school buses, and minibuses.

The proposal was approved by majority vote. The new tariffs will be effective from February 16.

Electronic Full Ticket: Increased from 35 TL to 42 TL,

Blue Card (Monthly Subscription): Increased from 2,748 TL to 3,298 TL

MARMARAY

There will be a 25.49 percent increase on Marmaray. The longest distance fare on Marmaray will rise to 75 TL.

The full fare on Marmaray will start at 34 TL for 1–7 stations and go up to 74.70 TL for 36–43 stations. On the Gayrettepe–Istanbul Airport–Halkalı metro line, the fare will be 34 TL for 1–3 stations, 43.54 TL for 7–8 stations, and 66.54 TL for 15–16 stations.

IETT-OPERATED BUSES

Bus ticket prices operated by IETT will be increased by 20 percent.

The Istanbulkart full ticket fare will be 42 TL, a single swipe on public transport vehicles with double-fare application will be 84 TL, the student ticket will be 20.50 TL, and the first transfer fee will be 31.27 TL.

A single-use ticket will be sold for 60 TL, a 10-use ticket for 480 TL, and a 12-use ticket for 580 TL.

MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION 3 THOUSAND 298 LIRA

The monthly full blue card is increasing from 2 thousand 748 TL to 3 thousand 298 TL. While the student subscription is rising from 494 TL to 593 TL, the IBB personnel subscription fee will be applied as 1 thousand 618 TL. Student card users aged 30 and over will pay 2 thousand 968 TL. The monthly subscription fee for those over 60 will be 2 thousand 51 TL. The full passenger fare on the Metrobus will increase based on distance, starting at 30.07 TL for 1–3 stops, 48.01 TL for 4–9 stops, 52.73 TL for 10–15 stops, and the fare for the longest distance of 34 stops and over will rise to 62.35 TL.

TAXI METER OPENING FEE 65.40 LIRA

For D-segment taxis, the opening fee will be 65.40 TL, 43.56 TL per kilometer, and the minimum fare will be 210 TL. For C-segment and above, the opening fee will rise to 75.21 TL, 50.09 TL per kilometer, and the minimum fare to 240 TL. For taxis converted to electric, the opening fee will be 85.02 TL, 56.03 TL per kilometer, and the minimum fare 270 TL. For luxury taxis, the opening fee will rise to 111.18 TL, 74.05 TL per kilometer, and the minimum fare to 360 TL.

CITY LINES (SEHIR HATLARI)

The Kadıköy–Eminönü line has risen to 59.28 TL, Üsküdar–Eminönü to 53.20 TL, and Üsküdar–Kadıköy to 57 TL. The Karaköy–Bostancı line is now 69.91 TL, while the Avcılar–Bostancı line has risen to 177.80 TL. The full boarding fare on the Islands line will be applied as 137.48 TL.

CAR FERRY AUTOMOBILE 240 LIRA

On the Sirkeci–Harem line, the full pedestrian ticket is 40.39 TL, and the student ticket is 24.32 TL. The automobile and minivan crossing fee will be 240 TL, SUV and off-road vehicles 260 TL, and bus crossing 630 TL.

MINIBUS AND SHUTTLE FEES ALSO INCREASED

In minibuses, the 0–4 km fare will be 39 TL, and 15–20 km will be 47 TL. For journeys over 20 km, 1.40 TL will be charged per kilometer in addition to 47 TL. For student shuttles, the monthly fee for 0–1 km will be 4 thousand 51 TL, while the monthly fee for 23–25 km will rise to 9 thousand 488 TL. For every additional kilometer over 25 km, 79.99 TL will be added.
