Published in the Official Gazette: Appointment to the Central Bank MPC!

Appointment decisions signed by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have been published in the Official Gazette.

Accordingly, Prof. Dr. Fatma Özkul has been appointed as a new MPC member, and the TCMB has shared Özkul's biography on its website.

WHO IS PROF. DR. FATMA ÖZKUL?

Prof. Dr. Fatma Özkul was born in Elazığ in 1978. Having graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Marmara University's Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Özkul completed her master's and doctoral degrees in the Department of Accounting and Finance at the Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences. Özkul received the title of associate professor in the field of accounting in 2012 and the title of professor in 2018.

Having served as a faculty member at Bahçeşehir University between 2007 and 2021, Özkul also held positions as deputy director of a vocational school, deputy director of an institute of social sciences, and director of a graduate school of education, in addition to her academic career.

Currently a faculty member in the Department of Accounting and Finance at Marmara University's Faculty of Business Administration, Özkul has numerous academic publications in the fields of accounting and auditing.

Özkul has also written the books "Fraud Risk Management in Businesses" and "Accounting Practices in Retail Businesses," as well as the book "Accounting for Crypto Assets," which was awarded the "Best Finance and Economics Book of the Year" award in 2023.

Having previously served as an Independent Board Member for Türkiye Sigorta and Türkiye Hayat Emeklilik AŞ, Özkul currently continues to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees at Ziraat Finance and Technology University.
