Published in the Official Gazette: Banks to pay 9 thousand 270 liras
An amendment has been made to the "Communiqué on the Printing Format of Checkbooks and the Determination of the Amount Banks are Obligated to Pay to the Bearer."
The amount that banks are required to pay for each dishonored check leaf has been increased from 6 thousand liras to 9 thousand 270 liras.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB) communiqué on the matter has been published in the Official Gazette.
Accordingly, the phrase "6 thousand Turkish liras" in Article 4 of the "Communiqué on the Printing Format of Checkbooks and the Determination of the Amount Banks are Obligated to Pay to the Bearer (No: 2010/2)," published in the Official Gazette dated January 20, 2010, and numbered 27468, has been changed to "9 thousand 270 Turkish liras."
The phrase "6 thousand Turkish liras" in the provisional Article 2 of the same communiqué has been updated to "8 thousand 650 Turkish liras."
The communiqué will enter into force on January 31.
