Published in the Official Gazette: Treasury support for TCDD extended until 2033

The Republic of Türkiye State Railways (TCDD) and TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ budget support period by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance has been extended by 10 years. Accordingly, deficits arising from financing in TCDD's operating budget and capital transfers made to TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ will be covered by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, to be offset against capital, until the end of 2033.

"WILL FULFILL THE OBLIGATION UNTIL THE SAME DATE"

The financing of investments in TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ's programs, financing deficits in the operating budget, and the difference between the actual financing deficit and what is projected in the operating budget will be covered by TCDD, to be offset against capital, until the end of 2033. The public service obligation will also be fulfilled by TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ until the same date.

On the other hand, the "Regulation on the Determination of Railway Passenger Transport Lines to be Supported within the Scope of Public Service Obligation and the Public Service Obligated Train Operator" has also been published in the Official Gazette and entered into force.

According to the new regulation regarding the support of TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ, until the end of 2033, for public service fee payments to be made to TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ, the basis will be the amount obtained by adding a reasonable profit of 10 percent of the estimated cost to the amount found by subtracting the expected ticket revenue from the estimated cost calculated for the operation of each train.
