Real loss in housing continued in June
According to the CBRT's Residential Property Price Index, prices increased by 24.5 percent annually in June; the increase remained below the 32.11 percent inflation rate.
The Residential Property Price Index announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) showed that the real value loss in the housing market continued in June.
According to the data, housing prices rose by 24.5 percent on an annual basis in June. However, with annual consumer inflation announced at 32.11 percent for the same period, this indicated that the increase in housing prices remained behind inflation.
Thus, the process of real loss in housing prices reached its seventh consecutive month. The monthly increase in housing prices in June was 2 percent.
