Record expectations in the gold market: Expert issues critical warning for gram gold

While gold prices made headlines with a rapid decline last week, the impact of volatility in financial markets continues. İslam Memiş stated that there was a significant loss of value in gold and silver following news of an agreement between the US and Iran.

Memiş said, "International developments that emerged in recent days, especially the announcement of an agreement between America and Iran, caused rapid declines in the gold and silver markets."

According to Memiş's assessment, this activity, which increases investor anxiety, will continue throughout the year. "There are 10 months left until the end of the year, and we will continue to experience this volatile and manipulation-filled market structure every month until the end of the year. Developments regarding presidential powers in the US, rising geopolitical tension, and the reopening of Chinese markets have led to price increases in gold and silver," he said.

According to the figures shared by Memiş, gold per ounce fell to 4,850 dollars last week and is currently hovering at the 5,135 dollar level. In gram gold, a decline to 7,260 liras was seen at one point, but it has now found balance at 7,475 liras.

MORE VOLATILITY EXPECTED IN GOLD

Stating that this volatility in the market creates constant restlessness among investors, Memiş underlined that the year is a "year of manipulation": "This year, investors need to be especially careful against short-term rises and falls. Focusing on the long-term trend is of great importance. The real major changes will take place by the end of the year."

Expressing his expectation for gram gold, Memiş predicted a serious record for the second half of the year. "Our target for gold per ounce is 6,000 dollars by the end of the year. As for gram gold, the possibility of reaching five digits, that is, 10,000 lira levels, by the middle of the year is on the agenda," he shared.

The financial analyst also specifically warned those making short-term investments, saying: "There is no problem for investors focusing on the long term. However, there are significant risks for those who engage in short-term buying and selling, as well as those who carry out leveraged or credit-based transactions." Thus, it was emphasized that those making leveraged investments should be careful.

While rapid movements in gold and silver are expected to continue in the coming period, experts state that investors who follow the market closely should not act emotionally.
