The company stated that thanks to these models, it makes payments to millions of artists and supports the music sector.

On the other hand, Spotify was sued in the US in 2023 by some artists and music publishers on the grounds that it underpaid lyric royalties. However, as a result of the legal process, a federal judge in New York dismissed the case, and the matter was closed.
