Remarkable increase in Central Bank reserves

According to data released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB), official reserve assets increased by 1.7% compared to the previous week, rising to 186.4 billion dollars. During this period, foreign currency reserves increased by 1.7% to 69 billion dollars, while gold reserves rose by 1.9% to 109.7 billion dollars. Additionally, the IMF reserve position and SDR total increased by 0.4% to reach the 7.7 billion dollar level.

Foreign currency liabilities of the public sector—namely the Central Bank and the Central Government—which affect short-term foreign currency liquidity, also rose by 1.2% to 120.7 billion dollars. Predetermined foreign currency liabilities increased by 2.3% to 57.7 billion dollars, while contingent foreign currency liabilities rose by 0.3% to reach 63 billion dollars. The Central Bank's foreign currency liabilities arising from total foreign currency swap transactions were recorded at 17.6 billion dollars.
