Restaurant prices to be compared: New application on the way

Developed in partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Technology and TÜBİTAK, "marketfiyati.org.tr," which offers citizens the opportunity to compare prices at chain grocery stores, has received great interest. The site, which allows users to compare the prices of the same products sold at A101, BİM, CarrefourSA, HAKMAR, MİGROS, Tarım Kredi, and ŞOK markets, reached more than 1 million unique visitors in three days.

A SIMILAR SYSTEM WILL COME TO RESTAURANTS

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced in a live broadcast on CNNTÜRK that another step will be taken following the grocery price comparison application. Stating that restaurant prices could also be compared with a similar system, Kacır used the following expressions:

"When you go to a restaurant, you can only see the prices once you reach the door. Digital opportunities are very widespread, and we want to put them at the service of our citizens. In this way, we will also expose opportunists. Our goal is to take steps that protect both the consumer and the businesses."

Once the new system is implemented, citizens will have the opportunity to evaluate the most suitable option for their budget by reviewing prices at different restaurants in advance.

''IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO LOWER INFLATION BUT...''

Minister Kacır emphasized that the application alone would not be enough to lower inflation, but that it would contribute to the fight against inflation by encouraging fair competition in the market. Stating, "We will continue to take steps that meet the expectations of our citizens," Kacır said that the details of the new application will become clear in the coming period.
