Retirement age for TES announced: It will launch in 2026! How much will the state contribution be?
The Supplementary Pension System, planned to be implemented in the second quarter of 2026, will offer a 30 percent state subsidy on employee and employer contributions.
Within the framework of the Medium-Term Program, the goal is to transform the Individual Pension System (BES) into a Supplementary Pension System (TES). This new system aims to provide additional income to retirees by being financed through deductions from employees and employers.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Okan Güray Bülbül from Hacı Bayram Veli University stated that pension salaries are on a downward trend, noting that changes in the social security system have made it difficult to ensure the welfare of retirees through salaries alone. Bülbül said, "The Supplementary Pension System will be a savings program that supports the existing pension system."
58 FOR WOMEN, 60 FOR MEN
Participation in this system will be mandatory for employees, and they will need to remain in the system for at least 10 years to be able to use their premiums. The retirement age has been set at 58 for women and 60 for men.
A 30 percent state subsidy will be provided for employee and employer contributions. No definitive figure has yet been announced for the deduction rate, which was previously projected at 3 percent in the earlier program. The Supplementary Pension System is planned to be implemented in the second quarter of 2026.
