Retirement pensions to increase in April: Who is covered?
The update made by TÜİK to national income data has led to a redetermination of the coefficient used in calculating retirement pensions. The pensions of those who applied for retirement after January 1, 2025, will be recalculated in April.
Following the revision carried out by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) in national income statistics, a change was made to the growth rate used as the basis for calculating retirement pensions. The updated rate specifically covers those who applied for retirement after January 1, 2025. Retirement pensions granted after this date will be recalculated in April, and the resulting differences will be paid to the beneficiaries.
WHICH RETIREES ARE COVERED?
The application includes retirees who submitted their retirement petitions as of 2025 and whose pensions were granted after this date.
Those who retired earlier will continue to receive increases based on their current salaries; they will not be affected by the coefficient change.
ADDITIONAL INCREASE TO BE REFLECTED IN APRIL
The additional increase rate to be reflected in pensions in April has been set at 1.08 percent this year. However, for those currently receiving the lowest retirement pension at the 20 thousand TL level, this increase will not result in an actual salary increase as it is calculated based on the base pension.
On the other hand, the pension of a retiree who submitted their retirement petition in 2026 and was granted a monthly pension of 25 thousand TL in February will be paid with an increase of approximately 270 TL as of April.
