Revenue Administration warning on international departure fee stamps: Do not stockpile before the price hike
Following reports in the press and on social media regarding international departure fee stamps, the Revenue Administration has published a statement on its website.
The Revenue Administration (GİB) has issued a statement following reports that the international departure fee will be increased to 1500 TL.
In its statement, the GİB noted, "Purchasing fee stamps today or paying the fee through other means does not mean that the amount valid on the date of departure will not be paid."
The statement published on the Revenue Administration's website is as follows: Reports have appeared in the press regarding efforts to redetermine the international departure fee.
As with other tax laws, international departure fees are subject to continuous evaluation in terms of effectiveness and efficiency.
As is known, this fee is collected as a flat rate per departure from citizens of the Republic of Turkey traveling abroad.
The international departure fee must be paid based on the amounts in effect on the date of departure.
Therefore, due to the news reports, purchasing fee stamps today or paying the fee through other means does not mean that the amount valid on the date of departure will not be paid.
It is important for our citizens to follow the statements of our Administration so as not to be victimized by such speculative news."
