SCT hike may arrive in 9 days: Cheapest and most expensive cigarette prices revealed

Cigarettes, which have already seen 3 price hikes in 2024, may be hit by a 4th SCT hike.

According to the report in Yeniçağ, by law, the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) on cigarettes is increased in January and July by the rate of the previous 6-month producer inflation (PPI). For this reason, the retail price of cigarettes will not be able to remain below 60 TL.

In this context, price hikes ranging from 3 to 8 TL are expected for cigarettes in 5 groups.

JTI Group cigarette prices start at 59 TL and go up to 70 TL. Thus, the lowest cigarette price is expected to be between 62 and 67 TL, and the highest cigarette price is expected to be between 73 and 78 TL.
