SCT hike on diesel reflected at the pump: Here are the new prices
As of September 1, the SCT on diesel has been reintroduced. Following a 3.60 TL increase including VAT, prices have risen in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.
A new period for diesel fuel prices began on the first day of September. In line with the gradual SCT increase schedule to be applied until the end of the year under the Presidential Decree, the diesel SCT, which was temporarily zeroed out in August, began to be applied again as of September 1, 2026.
The SCT amount on diesel became 3 TL per liter. With the addition of 20 percent VAT to this amount, the total increase reflected at the pump was calculated as 3.60 TL. There are no new price hikes or discounts for gasoline and LPG as of the same date.
Following the regulation, vehicle owners began to track current fuel prices, especially in major cities. The liter prices announced in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir on Tuesday, September 1, are as follows:
CURRENT FUEL PRICES
| City / Region | Gasoline | Diesel | LPG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Istanbul Anatolian Side | 74.21 TL | 80.93 TL | 33.19 TL |
| Istanbul European Side | 74.35 TL | 81.07 TL | 33.79 TL |
| Izmir | 75.62 TL | 82.46 TL | 33.79 TL |
| Ankara | 75.33 TL | 81.19 TL | 33.89 TL |
Fuel prices may vary between cities and stations depending on changes in tax regulations, oil prices, exchange rates, and distribution costs.
