Significant opportunities for Turkish investors in Latvia: What are the requirements for obtaining a residence permit?

DTİK Latvia Representative, Latvian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce Board Member, and NB Yatırım Chairman of the Board Fuat Aydemir explained the investment opportunities in Latvia, which opens the door to the European Union. Aydemir pointed out that with the right investments and moves, results can be achieved in as little as 5 days.

NB Yatırım Chairman of the Board and businessman Fuat Aydemir evaluated the opportunities that Latvia, a strategic Baltic country, offers to Turkish investors. Stating that the country, which draws attention with its unique geography and distinct culture, provides significant advantages for residency rights and freedom of movement within the European Union, Aydemir issued critical warnings regarding the process.

"DO NOT TRUST UNAUTHORIZED INDIVIDUALS"

Warning investors against the misinformation circulating on the internet and social media, Aydemir emphasized that unauthorized individuals could victimize people with promises such as "guaranteed residency." Aydemir stated, "Transactions made with unauthorized intermediaries that do not comply with Latvian law lead to both financial and time losses. The process must be conducted in an official and transparent manner."

3 DIFFERENT WAYS TO INVEST

Fuat Aydemir summarized the three main legal paths granted by the Latvian government to foreign investors that lead to a residence permit as follows:

1. Corporate Investment: Becoming a partner by making a capital investment in a company already operating in Latvia.

2. Real Estate Purchase: Purchasing real estate worth at least 250,000 Euros.

3. Establishing a Company: Providing capital inflow and starting commercial activities by establishing a new company in the country.

"FAST-TRACK OPTION AVAILABLE"

Providing technical details regarding the timing of application processes, Aydemir stated that bureaucratic procedures can be accelerated.

Expressing that applications are generally concluded within 30 days under standard procedures, Aydemir shared the information, "For investors with limited time, there are fast-track options offered by the state. On the condition of paying an additional fee, the review period can be reduced to 10 days, or even 5 days."
