Social assistance payments increased

Social assistance payments increased

Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced that they have decided to increase social assistance payments and deposit them into the accounts of beneficiaries starting from February.

In the announcement, it was stated that a raise of nearly 50 percent has been applied to the monthly payments of social assistance programs.

Minister Göktaş shared the following details:

"Starting from February, we will increase these monthly payments and deposit them into the accounts of the beneficiaries. We have implemented an increase of nearly 50 percent in the monthly payments of social assistance programs.

We are raising the elderly pension from 2 thousand 348 liras to 3 thousand 504 liras. We are increasing the monthly payments for our citizens with a disability rate between 40 and 69 percent from 1 thousand 874 liras to 2 thousand 797 liras, and the payments for our citizens with a disability report of 70 percent and above from 2 thousand 811 liras to 4 thousand 196 liras.

Home Care Assistance will be 7 thousand 608 liras for the January-July period of this year, up from 5 thousand 097 liras. We have increased the average economic support amount per child from 3 thousand 571 liras to 5 thousand 330 liras. The monthly average of payments made to foster families per child has been increased from 5 thousand 705 liras to 8 thousand 895 liras."

Minister Göktaş stated that the increased payments will be made in February.
