Statement on minimum wage from TÜRK-İŞ
TÜRK-İŞ President Ergün Atalay made an assessment regarding inflation in response to statements that there will be no increase in the minimum wage set for 2024. Atalay said, "Without stopping inflation, without closing the bottom of the jar, so to speak, you can pour as much water as you want into the jar; in short, you can give money, but the money loses its value. Therefore, we must close the bottom of the jar as soon as possible; we must stop inflation. After that, we must raise the purchasing power of society to a certain level."
TÜRK-İŞ President Ergün Atalay made assessments regarding the minimum wage during a visit by Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan and his delegation to TÜRK-İŞ.

Recalling Minister Işıkhan's statement that there will be no increase in the minimum wage set for 2024, Atalay used the following expressions:
"Without stopping inflation, without closing the bottom of the jar, so to speak, you can pour as much water as you want into the jar; in short, you can give money, but the money loses its value. Therefore, we must close the bottom of the jar as soon as possible; we must stop inflation. After that, we must raise the purchasing power of society to a certain level."
