Stock market hits record high in the first half of the day (April 26)
The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul reached a record high of 9,907.38 points in the first half of the day.
The BIST 100 index, which saw an all-time high of 9,907.38 points in the first half of the day, was at 9,883.45 as of 1:00 PM, gaining 166.67 points and 1.72 percent compared to the previous close. The total trading volume reached 51.6 billion lira.
The banking index gained 2.03 percent, and the holding index gained 1.93 percent.
Among sector indices, the construction sector gained the most with 2.13 percent, while the sports sector lost the most with 2.35 percent.
Analysts stated that global equity markets followed a mixed course as signals from data released in the US yesterday indicated that the fight against inflation in the country might take longer than expected.
Stating that weekly money and bank statistics will be monitored domestically today, and personal consumption expenditures and the University of Michigan consumer confidence index will be followed abroad, analysts noted that technically, the 10,000-10,100 levels are resistance, while 9,700 and 9,600 points are support levels for the BIST 100 index.
